In conversation with… Erica Lainé
31 March, 2019 @ 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm UTCFree
Erica Lainé is the author of the acclaimed trilogy, Isabella of Angoulême, The Tangled Queen, a gripping trilogy full of thwarted ambition, passion, pride and cruelty.
On Sunday 31 March, we’ll be chatting with Erica about life as a writer, the characters in her books, and learning more about her writing style. She’ll be sharing how she approached the research for her historical novels, writing techniques that budding novelists can apply in their own work, as well as more about her own varied and interesting life.
Isabella of Angoulême, The Tangled Queen is the story of the little known and very young Isabella of Angoulême who was abducted by King John in 1200. She became his second wife and queen consort, aged just 12. Set in the 13th century, the books paint a colourful picture of the power struggle between England and France, King John’s actions which led to the loss of Normandy and the destruction of the Plantagenet Empire, and Isabella’s own life of treachery and intrigue…
We’re hosting the free webinar as part of our work with Sarah Tyley and L’atelier des écrivains – The Writers’ Workshop, France, which is fast becoming a sought-after date in the creative writers’ calendar.
Sarah Tyley said: “We are delighted to provide people with the opportunity to hear from Erica Lainé MBE. Isabella of Angoulême, The Tangled Queen is a fantastic story, and Erica has much to share that will be of interest to both readers and creative writers alike.”
