Who is Tom?

Tom is a fantastic writer and editor with a serious head for politics. Tom follows the Westminster Lobby 24/7 – and can always be counted on for incisive commentary and political analysis.

In addition to working on the Public Affairs team for the New Statesman, Tom has also worked in both the charity and media sectors. He writes on a variety of topics and has a good understanding of social affairs. He’s passionate about charity and civil society and wants to use his writing and political knowledge to make sure the voices of those trying to make a difference are heard

He has written, commissioned and edited for the New Statesman, Guardian Professional Networks and Charity Financials.

Previous experience

Tom started out at the College of Teachers as their EU projects manager, where he worked with charities and other social impact organisations from across the continent. He moved on to be the event and public affairs officer at the New Statesman (and Press Gazette) before joining Slack in the summer of 2015.

Tom is a frustrated dog lover and will bore anyone willing to listen regarding his favourite breeds.
